Many months ago our guerrilla marketing department attempted to get a strap to Neko Case. We had assumed that they failed until we came across this photo this morning. Neko’s music is a favorite around Jaykco and we are absolutely thrilled that she is wearing our strap.
Thanks to Mike Pollock for sharing the photo, you can see more of his work here : 50showsat50.blogspot.com.
Beacon Theatre in New York City on Monday, 11/16/09.
We were on national TV again with Phoenix. It never gets old to see our stuff on TV. Deck is playing our “Casey Jones 1″. Not sure who he is: he’s the one with the cool strap, duh! OK he’s the bass player with the cool strap.
While Wilco was in town, we also had the Pleasure of meeting Liam Finn and E-J, who were out on the road with Wilco for a spell. Our good friend sent Scott Spy snapped this shot of Liam wearing a “Casey Jones 1″. Dig the “Thriller” jacket that Liam picked up that afternoon at the River Market in Kansas City.
You can check out Liam’s music here:

We are waiting for a cool shot of E-J using her “Toasty Dragonfly” on her autoharp.
On October 6th Wilco came back to the Crossroads in Kansas City to play to a capacity crowd of around three thousand and they picked up some Jaykco straps at The Midwestern Musical Company while they were there!!
As you may or may not know, the gentlemen in Wilco have excellent taste in guitars and guitar straps. They wear some of the coolest straps out there. Some of them are vintage, some are made by our competitors and a handful of the straps worn by Tweedy and Kline are killer cool vintage straps by “Built By Wendy”, and now some them are made by us!
We were lucky enough to catch up with Nels Cline, John Stirratt and Pat Sansone when they popped into our friends guitar store, Midwestern Music. Glenn did pick up a cymbal while he was there but that’s not such a big deal for us.
John informed us that he prefers to wear vintage straps from the sixties and seventies. Nels and Pat however are into the new stuff and both picked up some Jaykco.
We have seen Pat wearing his “Double Blue and White Snowflake” on his Telecaster:
Nels has been seen wearing his “Red China Girl” on his ‘69 Inca Silver Jaguar, we sadly do not have a cool photo of it yet. Nels was a fun a guy to talk to about guitars and pedals. He is a gear geek through and through. To the point that he gave us a walk through of his guitars and pedal board. This was easily the highlight of our summer! Did you know that one of his Jazzmasters was a present from Mike Watt and has “Watt” carved into the back of the neck. I wished i’d gotten a photo of it. Instead you will just have get by with this shot of Nels’ pedal board:
Nels also showed us the killer cool mastery bridges he is using on his Jags and Jazzmasters. Please check out www.masterybridge.com for more info.
Lastly one of the straps that Nels purchased, a “Sandy Dragonfly” has been seen on one of Jeff Tweedy’s acoustics (THANKS NELS!!!):
